We are currently looking for a detail-oriented Collection Clerk to join our team who will be responsible for managing and processing customer payments, following up on outstanding balances, and ensuring accurate records of all transactions. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive financial information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor customer accounts for overdue payments and contact customers to resolve outstanding balances.
- Process customer payments and accurately record transactions.
- Communicate with customers via phone, email, and letters regarding overdue accounts.
- Prepare and send invoices, payment reminders, and collection notices.
- Maintain detailed records of all collection activities and interactions with customers.
- Work closely with the accounting department to ensure accurate bookkeeping.
- Provide customer service by responding to billing inquiries and resolving discrepancies.
- Recommend accounts for further action, such as legal proceedings, when necessary.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in finance or accounting are a plus.
- Previous experience in collections, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and familiarity with accounting software.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- High attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information confidentially.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
